Connect Datto RMM

Enable Datto API access, map API keys into Lexful’s connection form, and understand site-to-customer mapping.

Connect Datto RMM to bring site and device inventory into Lexful. Each Datto site is treated as a customer mapping group. Review that mapping carefully if one of your customers has several Datto sites.

What Lexful reads

The default collection reads account sites, devices, device audit/hardware information and installed software. Alert and patch collections are not enabled by default. These are inbound reads; Lexful does not run Datto components or manage devices through this connector.

Enable Datto API access

  1. As a Datto administrator, open Setup → Global Settings → Access Control and enable API access.

  2. Open Setup → Users, select the dedicated integration user and choose Generate API Keys.

  3. Set the user’s API Security Level and API Component Level appropriately. The account needs read access to the intended sites, devices and audit/software inventory; site restrictions still apply.

  4. Copy the displayed API URL, API Key and API Secret Key, then save the user.

Datto’s API setup guide explains these settings. Regenerating the user’s key pair invalidates its previous pair.

Connect in Lexful

  1. Sign in to the intended Lexful account as an administrator. Open Platform → Integrations → Data sources.

  2. Find Datto RMM and choose Connect. If it is already connected, open the existing connection instead.

  3. Enter the values below. Where the form displays https:// separately, enter the hostname and path without repeating it.

  4. Select Test Connection. Resolve any error, then select Connect Datto RMM.

Lexful field

What to enter

Client Id

Your Datto API Key.

Client Secret

Your Datto API Secret Key.

API URL

The host shown on the Datto user page, such as https://zinfandel-api.centrastage.net. Use your actual platform.

Auth Url

The same host plus /auth/oauth, for example https://zinfandel-api.centrastage.net/auth/oauth. Lexful appends /token.

The Client Id and Client Secret labels are generic form labels. Enter Datto’s API keys—not your interactive Datto username/password.

Check the first sync

The connection test checks the Datto account endpoint. It does not prove that every source table is readable or that records have reached your documentation.

  1. Open the connection’s Sync logs and check that the relevant source tables finish successfully.

  2. Review Mapping for source types, statuses and other values. Save any changes.

  3. Open Data sync → Configure sync, save your primary organization, enable the customers you want, and review the available record filters.

  4. Run Sync now on Data sync, review the result, then check a sample organization and its records.

Configure mappings and data sync explains these steps in detail. Collection from the provider and syncing records into Lexful are separate stages.

If something is missing

If devices are missing, check the API user’s site access and API security level, then the Datto site-to-Lexful customer mapping. Deactivating the Datto user or regenerating its keys can stop the connection.

A successful test followed by a failed table usually means that table needs additional read access. A successful collection followed by missing records usually means organization matching, customer selection or record filters need review. Include the provider, failed table and visible error when contacting support; never include credentials.
